PPM OPEN DAY AT CHASEWATER RAILWAY, 2nd APRIL
Community Light Rail will be demonstrated with the PPM 50 light railcar providing a free service between Brownhills West and Chasewater Heaths. Transport from Lichfield Trent Valley station is available if required.
RESPONSE TO RAIL AND TRANSPORT WHITE PAPERS
Parry People Movers Ltd welcomes the transport developments contained in The Future of Rail White Paper of 15th July and in The Future of Transport White Paper of 20th July. The company is also pleased to have received assurances from the Strategic Rail Authority (SRA) that funding will be released shortly for the trial operation of a PPM light railcar on the Stourbridge Town branch line, as previously announced. The SRA will be wound up in 2005 under the new organisation for the railways outlined in the Rail White Paper. For full details go to the Press Release.
PPM issue Press Release in response to a new report issued by the National Audit Office on 22nd April 2004 which identifies that "there are barriers to the development and adoption of new and cheaper technologies" that are seen as discouraging the wider take-up of light rail.
